Deformation Monitoring

We monitor structures, walls and slopes for movement during heavy civil construction. Our reporting threshold is 0.005 ft (1/16″), and crews get the report in time to act the same day.

What it covers

  • Structural deformation monitoring
  • Repeat epochs compared to tolerance
  • Structures, walls and slopes
  • Treatment plants and heavy civil sites
  • Retaining walls
  • Reporting threshold of 0.005 ft (1/16″)

We take repeat epochs on structures, walls and slopes during construction. We compare each epoch to tolerance and report it so crews can act the same day.

At the El Portal and Tuolumne Meadows treatment plants, we did structural deformation monitoring with a 0.005 ft (1/16″) reporting threshold. We also monitored a retaining wall to the same threshold.

On both plants, we also set the survey control and did the construction layout. The plants include structural steel and precast buildings.
