Tunnel Surveys

We carry control underground, set line and grade at the heading and scan the excavated profile, because GNSS can't follow. One decline we survey is now approaching 4,000 feet and still advancing.

Underground decline tunnel with a drill jumbo working at the lit heading, survey paint marks on the rib and a ventilation duct overhead

What it covers

  • Survey control carried underground
  • Line and grade for the contractor's guidance lasers
  • Scans of the excavated profile
  • Updated as-built drawings as the decline advances
  • Boundary survey of the land above
  • Topographic mapping of the ground above

On an exploration mine decline in the Sierra foothills, we set line and grade for the contractor's guidance lasers.

We scan the excavated profile and deliver updated as-built drawings as the decline advances. The decline is now approaching 4,000 feet.

On the surface, we did a boundary survey of several hundred acres of private and BLM land. We also mapped the topography of the ground above.
